How do you guys deploy Adobe CC out to PCs? I am trying to use Group Policy as that is the only option I have to push applications out centrally. I create the package on the Adobe Admin Console and then download it. I put it in my software deployment share where everything else I push out with Group policy lives. Problem is the only thing that gets install is the Creative Cloud App. None of the other apps get installed. I know they are in the package I created in the Adobe Admin Console as the download is over 6GB.

Where am I going wrong?

Excuse the flippant reply, but where you are going wrong is using Adobe CC! More seriously, we had an absolute nightmare with CC and installing on new iMacs was worse - it took several weeks to sort out and even our so-called support experts couldn't get things up and running. When I'm back in school next Monday, I'll try to find out what the actual solution was and see if I can give some constructive comment. Hopefully, someone will be able to beat me to it though.

We use SCCM to push the package out with the cmd of 'msiexec /i "Adobe CC.msi" /q'

Also worth checking you are licences for the suite you're pushing out. If it's the latest (2019) you must have user licenses as device licenses only support 2018 and below.

We have user licences. Unfortunately we don't have SCCM.

You need to use setup.exe - - silent. Ideally you need SCCM. However if your brave use startup scripts or scheduled tasks. Be sure to give the deployment share the correct permissions.

I am also using SCCM, but I'm deploying each Adobe CC 2019 app individually via a PSADT script which does the following.

Pre-Installation
Run AdobeCCUninstaller.exe to uninstall old CC apps (inc. the 'unauthorized' versions).

Installation
Run "setup.exe --silent" to install each CC 2019 app.

Post-Installation
Remove rubbish like the "Adobe Creative Cloud.lnk" shortcut created on the desktop and the two autorun entries.

To enable SCCM to uninstall each 2019 app I add this to the uninstall section of the script. Uninstalling via the MSI didn't work for me.

Uninstallation
Run "AdobeCCUninstaller.exe --uninstallConfigPath=AdobeCC_Uninstall.xml"

It's possible to run PSADT .ps1 scripts via Group Policy, but a proper deployment solution like PDQ Deploy would be better.

This sounds like the issue described here.

Which version of Windows 10 are you using and are you deploying Adobe XD?

I seem to remember we found that the latest Abobe CC packages only work on Win 10. We had to push ahead with our Win 10 migration for our Art department because of it.

Yeah i was about to say, IIRC CC 2019 only works on Windows 10.

I know for a fact that Lightroom CC doesn't work on windows 8.1, learnt that the hard way

Only a few of the 2019 apps are supported on Windows 7 w/ SP1.

Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator would work, but Audition, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Lightroom CC etc. are Windows 10 only.

The latest versions of the Adobe video and audio tools require Windows 10 (version 1703 or later). Performance and stability are top priorities for all of our users. Running our apps on current version of the Windows 10 helps provide an optimal experience with our tools.

Focusing our development efforts on modern versions of Windows and Mac operating systems allows us to concentrate on developing the features and functionality most requested by you, while ensuring peak performance that takes advantage of modern hardware. To take advantage of the continued developments in hardware and software, Creative Cloud 2019 apps do not support some older OS versions. You will not be able to install or run Creative Cloud 2019 apps unless you’re on a supported version of Windows or macOS.

Creative Cloud 2019 apps are available for Windows 7, Windows 10 or later, and macOS Sierra 10.12 or later. 2019 versions of Digital Video products require the newest versions of Windows 10 and macOS Sierra or later. Windows 8.1 or early Windows 10 versions are not supported.

For details about each Creative Cloud app, see Creative Cloud system requirements.

@fiza

As @Arthur has stated we only deploy Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator as we are still on windows 7 SP1 also as our management cannot give me a definitive answer as to where they want to go regarding the network as we are having a new build but all the old equipment is being devolved over....toss up between Windows 10 or Totally Chrome OS as we are a GSuite school...

Its their decision as its no longer my remit to plan the strategy since the JRE depacle...

Yes, if you install current 2019 builds, the deployment will start to install, and then remove the applications. You should get an error message, and when checking this, will be advised that the current versions are Win 10 only. They won't run on 7, 8, 8.1 or even some early builds of Win 10
