Do you know where MIS vendors host their cloud platforms?

Please help create a list.

:mod:

Have you ever wondered where your school MIS hosted? AWS, Azure, Google, private?

In company alphabetical order:

- Advanced Progresso

- Arbor

- Bromcom

- Capita SIMS

- ISAMS

- PupilAsset

- RM Integris

- Scholarpack

- Any missing (apology!)

Are you asking or going to go investigate?

It is for general info.

If any member knows for sure, can answer or suppliers themselves can volunteer.

It is no different then to ask which database is based on! It isn’t generally not a secret or sensitive.

Right. Sorry for being picky, the thread title is a bit vague and the actual post doesn't really give much more information. Maybe a mod could change it to "Where Cloud MIS are hosted" or "List of where Cloud MIS are hosted" or "Shall we compile a list of where Cloud MIS are hosted"?

If you have your MIS hosted my a third party, you should really be asking where it is hosted when you sign up. In fact, the majority of such companies now simply include it in their privacy notice. Makes it easier for compiling your in your data audit documentation. If they host on third party equipment, they will need to show this. Edited by localzuk

So, have YOU ever wondered? Do you know?

Where is yours?

I agree with @TechMonkey the post is unclear and reads like clickbait.

You’ve provided no background, no info yourself nor reason for gathering this.

With regards to iSAMS it’s part of the agreement. I wouldn’t know if all customers are the same.

Double First use AWS globally for Engage and you can choose the data centre location.

As above, it's not just "who hosts it", but where - Azure could be anywhere as could AWS etc and these may differ even from the same providers. However obviously they're going to want to comply with GDPR but you should have this in writing from the start.

To help out, my understanding of iSAMS is that they use RackSpace and are spread out across 4 data centers in the UK. But as vikpaw says, I don't know if this is universal for every customer and by the nature of cloud it could change in the future.

Wait, why are they only using 1 cloud provider? Pfff and they say they have redundancy.

Too big to fail!

I mean Azure is super tolerant and never has any issues, apart from when was it? Yesterday? I don’t know, I just heard a rumour.

[h=6]RM Integris - meeting GDPR compliance

Where is the data stored?[/h]In a secure UK datacentre.

https://support.scholarpack.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360002132132-ScholarPack-GDPR-Guide

[h=1]Where exactly does ScholarPack store our data?[/h]School data is held in secure Tier 4 data centres within the UK that are protected by both physical and logical security, and conform to industry standard security practice. Our live systems and backup systems are hosted with different providers in different geographical locations within the UK.

https://www.isams.com/platform/add-ons/disaster-recovery/

The service works by taking an encrypted copy of your school’s MS SQL database and application server web space and securely uploading the backup to data centres in Dublin. In the event of a hardware or infrastructure failure, we can access the backups and have your system running from a secure iSAMS-hosted infrastructure within four working hours.

6. What levels of data security do we employ?

The Pupil Asset SaaS is secured to industry standards. Data in-transit and data at-rest are encrypted to AES-256 level. Our cloud data centres are located within the European Economic Area (EEA) - physically within the UK. Our UK located cloud hosting providers are ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certified.

So other than testing our google skills what was the objective of this thread?
