ICt Suite - office chairs or normal chairs?

they have been pretty good but they do have a tendancy to snap, the chair comes apart from the base.

 

I need to replace them, and I'm thinking of just getting normal student chairs

Is there any reason I need to buy office style chairs??

The site team buy the Postura chairs for all rooms when the Office style chairs break.

Isn't it a H&S issue, that while using "display equipment" users need to be able to customize their workstation to reduce stress/RSI type injuries and improve posture?

I know it applies to staff who use computers, I don't know if it would apply to students as well, as they're only using them for one/two lessons at a time.

 

If you can use regular student chairs, then I'd say go for it. But I'd check your H&S policies first.

It was customisation I was worried about but they would be unlikely to be sat for more than an hour

It won't apply for short periods. That is how schools get away with using laptops from trolleys without needing anything additional to cater for them.

It would appear the DSE regs don't apply to pupils, so it's just a case of if it's going to cause any issues but it sounds like many other schools are doing this already.

I purchased from Titan www.titanfurniture.co.uk I have the Plastic Office style chair with skids. Everything they sell has a 10 year warranty, of the few chairs that have split they have replaced the plastic. (I have over 100 of these and very few have split) ((I think))
