Uber22 Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 Hey Am guessing this question gets asked a lot but I am on a very tight time scale to get 40 pcs reimaged. I currently have MDT setup to deploy window 10 pro but I have not really managed to get the applications to install on there own so I am having to install like 10 per pc witch is taking long time. Any suggestions on best way to get these installed below. Sophos end point Chrome Adobe R Python Scratch Office pro 2016 Windows updates. So I be doing any tweaks to windows 10 that might help with keeping the image nice a basic. Thanks
Chris_Cook Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 For applications, I usually check the WPKG wiki for the command line options. https://wpkg.org/index.php?title=Category:Silent_Installers&pagefrom=FilterCAD#mw-pages I don't have scratch on our list, but we do the others and I think they are on the above link. If not, let me know and I'll extract ours. To automatically install a selection of applications, you can add some options in the deployment share properties on the rules page. I've got : Applications001={862dbac3-6445-4c09-a36e-e3cdb36371e9} Applications002={9a80a950-2081-4f67-897a-002d33f82acc} The GUID is from the properties of each application under the applications section on mdt. For windows updates, if you edit the properties of your windows deployment task sequence, under "State Restore", there are options to do windows updates either before or after application deployment. This can make the deployment take much longer.
strawberry Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 Itninja.com also give a good list of command line install options.
Rob_D Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 MDT should have GUI interface for setting up Office installs (at least it did the last time I used it). Most of the other applications on your list should have msi installers availible, in which case the install command is: msiexec.exe /i "installer.msi" /qn where "installer.msi" is the name your msi.
SparkySX Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 MDT Can silently install EXE files, so for scratch you can use the following: Scratch*.exe -silent -eulaAccepted -desktopShortcut -programMenu *Amend exe name for the version you've downloaded 1
old_n07 Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 Regarding chrome, get the enterprise installer from https://cloud.google.com/chrome-enterprise/browser/download/ and do a standard silent install using the MSI
DaveTheTech Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 (edited) Office pro has an admin config file that can be loaded. setup.exe /admin I get rid of the EULA, supress modal, reboot and also the items that run on first load Sophos is a little different. \\SERVER\SophosUpdate\CIDs\S000\SAVSCFXP\setup.exe -ouser "abc123" -opwd "def456" -mng yes -s -updp "\\SERVER\SophosUpdate\CIDs\S000\SAVSCFXP" -crt D -patch http://SERVER-FQDN:80 The username and password is obfuscated, you need to use the tool provided by sophos. Information in the following KBs https://community.sophos.com/kb/en-us/12570 https://community.sophos.com/kb/en-us/13094 Edited April 4, 2019 by DaveTheTech
