DJ-1701 Posted May 21, 2019 Posted May 21, 2019 Sadly, Jess passed away so she won’t be there this time So sorry to hear that. 1
StevieM Posted May 21, 2019 Posted May 21, 2019 The most important question... will there be any dogs? Sadly, Jess passed away so she won’t be there this time No, sadly she won't - and I haven't got a new friend yet. She had a whale of a time last year, though, and I'll raise a glass to her memory while I'm there. 3
Dos_Box Posted May 21, 2019 Author Posted May 21, 2019 Just a slight change. The post-conf meal will be held at the Kings Head Inn on Bridge Street. We had to move it as it is close to the railway station (5 min walk) as opposed to original place we looked at which is about as far away as it was possible to get in Salisbury. If you have come by car you can park on the Maltings or Salisbury Central car parks which are two minutes away. The tables are booked for 18:30.

Dos_Box Posted May 21, 2019 Author Posted May 21, 2019 The other problem, is that Salisbury is a small town full of small (but very nice) pubs. Spoons was one of the very few that could accommodate us all. 1

DalekSec Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 Whats the layout of the room? Reason i ask is i'm wondering what device/other to bring to make notes and i'm a werdio that can't use a laptop on his lap! Find it hard to type. So if there are desks = Laptop, if not i will bring my trust notepad!

So if there are desks = Laptop, if not i will bring my trust notepad! There will be 'some' tables. Please see that attachment for a rough layout. The chapel is actually a lot larger than it looks in the diagram but I couldn't be bothered to scale/size chairs accordingly. There will be several more rows of seats behind those shown. Possibly another row of tables further back too. First come, first served! chapel.pdf 1
AJWhite1970 Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 There will be 'some' tables. First come, first served... But like your favourite budget airline, reserved table seats are available for £250 per session (or £700 on the day if we can't scan your self-printed priority sitting ticket)...

Why did I not think of that?! You don't happen to have any really, really uncomfy chairs by any chance?

ICTDirect_Dave Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 We are hosting you in The Chapel - nothing but the finest 16th century church pews for our visitors Are those the ones that come with optional comfy cushions hooked onto the pew in front?
DJ-1701 Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 Are those the ones that come with optional comfy cushions hooked onto the pew in front? Yeah, but they are meant to be for kneeling on in prayer... mostly that ICT Direct can give us a great discount on refurbished PCs because our budgets been cut again. 1
elsiegee40 Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 Why did I not think of that?! You don't happen to have any really, really uncomfy chairs by any chance? There are probably some original 12th century stone cloisters around nearby [emoji1]
