Hi,

Does anyone know if its possible to block via GPO the pop-ups (shown below). Never had these before but just had someone report them now. Guess its a Microsoft thing, or is it a chrome thing - looking at the image it is a chrome.clickwarningsupport??

Had something very similar looking, Followed the same thing Caffrey has, it worked for us.

Do you have any software installed on that PC that comes bundled with adware? That can also cause the click.warning.support popups.

Once a malicious program is installed, whenever you will browse the Internet, unwanted advertisements from click.warning.support will pop-up.

Yes this is a Chrome thing, having a lot of friends asking about this as started turning up on their machines too. I let them know that they are the ones which agreed to the notifications, but I would disable them through GPO and then inform staff as well on a bulletin type thing as seeing it more outside of work too

Would disabling the notifications also prevent legitimate websites like Gmail and Google Calendar from displaying notifications too? e.g.

No, Using the Admin/GPO you can set the ones which by default are allowed - so you would set the google ones that you need

OK, I might be having a stupid moment here but I can't find the setting. Its not in GPO.

I can do it via registry but I don't even have a Chrome\DefaultNotificationsSetting in Software\Policies\Google\

Guess I can create it but surely it should be there

It's not in GPO.

It is.

 

Administrative Templates > Google > Google Chrome

 

• Default notification setting
  
• Allow notifications on these sites
  
• Block notifications on these sites
  

 

If you don't have these settings you will need to copy Google's Chrome ADMX/ADML files to your Group Policy central store.
