Maz Posted March 22, 2019 Posted March 22, 2019 Has anyone recently moved from Smoothwall to Sophos XG? What was your experience? Also we'd like to know what you think about Sophos XG. We're considering moving to it for our filtering system.
Simcfc73 Posted May 9, 2019 Posted May 9, 2019 I got mine installed yesterday but it wont go live till half term. looks lovely and the reporting works!!!!! 1
Uber22 Posted May 9, 2019 Posted May 9, 2019 We have a UTM at the moment and I have just paid for the new XG firewall going to fit it in the summer holidays I think, I didn't really have any training on the UTM but the XG I haven't used . Did you pay for the setup via sophos or done it yourself
richbrowncardiff Posted May 9, 2019 Posted May 9, 2019 (edited) I have an XG450 very powerful bit of kit. self installed without any training fairly simple and good support over the phone direct to sophos. Really pleased. To add to this I got stuck to start with and got great help from kind fellow edugeekers on this thread http://www.edugeek.net/forums/internet-related-filtering-firewall/189656-sophos-xg-help.html Edited May 9, 2019 by richbrowncardiff 1
Wave9_Lee Posted May 16, 2019 Posted May 16, 2019 Just fyi, Wave 9 offer a full install service as well as annual charging for Sophos and include ongoing support as standard. In addition we can provide free training for customers. I appreciate many will be happy to 'have a go' but I think we offer a good service that serves as a safety net, even if you're skilled in Network etc. Always worth asking for a quote : ) cheers
smalls001 Posted May 16, 2019 Posted May 16, 2019 We did that SW to Sophos XG, we love it. We got ours through Wave9 which are excellent too. They fully support the XG and if we get stuck wave9 always happy to help 1
Quatermass Posted May 16, 2019 Posted May 16, 2019 We moved from SW to XG end of 2018, purchased through SoftCat. Nice kit, and very glad to leave behind SW reports (*shudder*)
