[bromcom] Adverts in Bromcom parent app

Our school has just taken on the Bromcom MIS app, and parents are complaining about the adverts included in the parents app.

Has anyone successfully blocked or bypassed them?

Our pihole isn't showing where the adverts are coming from, so I'm assuming they're coming from the Bromcom domain.

 

Also, I think it's unacceptable that a application that has become mandatory for parents to use to have adverts. We're getting a backlash and rightly so.

I'm assuming the school has paid a lot of money for this MIS suite and it's disgusting that parents are getting nickle and dimed like this.

there's different purchasing options for the app and you can have them removed if your on the right package. HAve you discussed options with Bromcom ?

Are these targeted Ads at the parents where the app is monitoring the users activity from their phone/devices or just 'spam' for other Bromcom products?

In principle I don't think its a bad thing - subsidised pricing for the school if they choose. I personally would prefer to not mix advertising with parent communication but there's lots of examples where schools choose to make commercial agreements to save money. I.e. preferred supplier for uniform.

I thought I read somewhere that the parents could pay for the app to stop seeing the adverts after they have installed it, this was designed to reduce the pricing for the school who would have to pay for the licenses otherwise.
