Free/cheap asset system with audit capabilities?

Hello, I am looking for advice on what yoh use in your school. We are trying to leave the old wasp mobile system and we have just recently tried snipe It. While snipe it was much easier to use, I found that when you audit items it doesn't change their location, there is actually no way of changing location even when editing each individual asset.

I've looked on forums and it appears that this is a feature requested but not implemented yet which is no good for us.

 

We want to be able to track all our assets over 11 sites with multiple classrooms, and move assets about when required. It needs to be very user friendly and possibly mobile friendly to allow us to change locations on the go, and we also need to be able to check items out to members of staff and have them sign either physically or virtually in receipt of the item.

What do you use or recommend? Ideally free but willing to consider cheap if free is not available.

Up until around 2 weeks ago, I would have recommended https://www.myassettag.com/assettiger/ - but they appear to have recently sent everyone an invoice, so no longer free.

 

Depending on the number of asset's you might still find it fits with your budget.

We use open source ITDB which does some pretty flexible reports and supports multiple sites.

 

We then use Seletamark asset tags for the devices themselves

Take a look at the Open Source product, Snipe-IT - I seem to remember it has Audit in there somewhere but it's not a feature we use so not sure how it works - or even if it will do what you want/need.

This is what we just tried, and even though you can audit it doesn't change the location of the asset, which is a major feature we need! Thanks though

Always worth asking if that could be a feature as they're always adding things that people request.
