howartp Posted February 18, 2019 Posted February 18, 2019 Good morning. Does anyone have experience of this setting in MDMs? We're trying to remove an app* from student devices by taking management of it, but it's stating it cannot be removed as it's currently unmanaged. We've set the app to be Managed and Assumed Management (which is Airwatch's wording for the above setting). Has anyone successfully taken management of an existing user-installed app? *The app is hidden via policy but brief testing of unhiding it didn't seem to resolve this issue. Peter
LTurner3692 Posted February 18, 2019 Posted February 18, 2019 Nope, I found it easier just to wipe the device and start again! But we did make it clear that IF we found apps people shouldn't have then we will wi[e them wihtout notice! 1
bknaggs Posted February 18, 2019 Posted February 18, 2019 In Lightspeed I think the way of making an app managed is to deploy the app to the device(s) and tick an option saying Force Management. Once managed it could then be removed.

Once managed it could then be removed. That's what we're doing, in Airwatch lingo, but the management of the app isn't actually occurring - so when we try and remove the app it says it's not managed.
bknaggs Posted February 18, 2019 Posted February 18, 2019 Does Airwatch have any form of activity log or an error log? The most common cause of stuff not happening when I ask Lightspeed to do it is the device is locked and until the passcode is entered Lightspeed can't send the commands to the device. Might the devices be locked? Are they definitely online?
Brimstone Posted February 18, 2019 Posted February 18, 2019 AFAIK Airwatch comes not fully featured with all the tools, you have to buy additonal tools on top of the base licence....
