mikkydoos Posted February 8, 2019 Posted February 8, 2019 (edited) Hi all, I wonder if anyone has come across this... I've had this before and it has resurfaced (i think) after updating our Mac mini secondary Papercut server to Mojave. Printers on the Mac are online and correctly configured. I have re-run 'Control Printer Monitoring.control' on the Mac to 're-sync' to the primary Windows PaperCut server. Restarted the Papercut services on the primary server. Mac printers/queues appear OK in primary Papercut server and are configured correctly to release on the appropriate devices. Printers appear in the print dialogue on iPad and jobs are queued in the PaperCut app on iPad. Once printed the job appears in the app as pending release. On the MFD the job is listed under the users logon. .... when the print is released, nothing comes out and the job is lost. Any printing from Windows as the same user works fine. Can anyone suggest where else I can investigate? Cheers in advance Edited February 8, 2019 by mikkydoos
Mjstone1 Posted February 8, 2019 Posted February 8, 2019 Can you print to the printers from the Mac and release the jobs from there? I have seen this issue before with Papercut when the driver has been set incorrectly on the Mac for the device and although the jobs appear it doesn't release the job when pressing print. I haven't set mine up to print from iPads though, I only share a printer from a Mac server to other Macs in the school but could be related to the drivers with those symptoms Another thing that might be worth double checking as well is in the device settings for the MFD on papercut under print release, are the queues you are using ticked to allow for release?
gds64 Posted February 8, 2019 Posted February 8, 2019 Does the MFP have postscript capability? It may be simply deleting the print job.
kidpressingbuttons Posted February 8, 2019 Posted February 8, 2019 you set the the printer to be allowed to release print jobs for that print queue? Under device then print release.

NoraInu Posted February 10, 2019 Posted February 10, 2019 Hey Mikky, When you are saying you Print from your iPad to a PaperCut queue, do you mean via Mobility Print? If so are you using mDNS or DNS and have there been any changes in the Network, there are some changes that can affect Mac Devices only. Which Version of PaperCut are you currently running? Is your Primary and your Secondary Server on the same Version? As you are printing to an MFD I assume you are using PaperCut MF, did you try to contact your Reseller? They can be usually quite helpful with troubleshooting. Cheers, Nora
kidpressingbuttons Posted February 10, 2019 Posted February 10, 2019 Have you tried stopping and starting iOS printing?
mikkydoos Posted February 11, 2019 Author Posted February 11, 2019 No changes except the Mojave update. Both PCuts on the same version. IOS printing has been restarted. Like I said in the OP, the print gets from the Ipad to the Mac, is present in the windows PCut Mac queue and available to the MFD. It just doesn't pull the job through.
