How often do you clean YOUR keyboard

I just don't have the time. If I'm waiting for something to install or compile I might occasionally run my finger along the bit in between the F keys and the numbers....then wonder where to wipe the dust from the end of my finger for 5 minutes.

 

I normally go with the carpet for some strange reason.

The original article prompted one of the staff to ask me how often we cleaned keyboards.

 

'Never', was my reply.

 

She thought this this was a problem so I pointed out if she was concerned she shouldn't use any door handle in the school as this probably gets 'infected' by more people then a keyboard. There are loads of such examples

 

It just seem to me that we want to over protect ourselves these days. You see small kids that as soon as they get a spec of dirt on them out comes the antibacterial wipes.

 

In my day you could get good and dirty and if a quick wipe was needed it was a handkerchief (of dubious cleanliness) and spit.

 

I suspect this zealous cleanliness is storing up problems for the future when people have poor immunity to lots of common illnesses

just before i started reading this article lol

i read the other through digg and when i saw 2 stories reminding me how dirty they i i got the foam spray out and give mine a good wipe down! all my kit needs a good clean becaus eof the dust in the new office but meh
