SIMs shortcut keys

Good afternoon.

 

I might well have imagined this but is there a shortcut in SIMs for the 'Next' and 'Previous' buttons (for going between marksheets, list entry reports and so on).

 

I'm sure there is but I cant for the life of me remember what they are.

Also, please feel free to share any other helpful SIMs shortcuts you might know!

Hover over the next/previous buttons and a tool tip should tell you what the shortcut is. Ctrl+> seems to be the answer in some screens but SIMS may not be consistent between different screens.

 

Alt+F4 is my favourite one when it comes to SIMS.

Hovering didn't bring anything up but Ctrl + < or > is the one that worked for the Next/Previous buttons.

When you're creating columns in Assessment Manager you can use N for next, enter to open dialogues and tab and space to select.

 

If I had to add lots of formula columns for the same set of aspects/result set I would edit the resultset name to start with ! - that way N-Enter-tab-space-enter-N takes you through resultsets in under a second. I'd then use categories to get just the list of aspects I need (AM remembers them for the next column) so with one or two letters you can select the aspect you need.

 

Sometimes you need alt+ letter - like I think finish is Alt-F

 

It's a bit like learning to type - it doesn't speed you up initially (or even slows you down a bit) but once you get it down it really really speeds you up vs using the mouse.

Got to agree with Roots. Learning to "type" assessment manager has saved me huge amounts of time over the years.

If can work out the full key sequence for a repetitive task, it can be programmed in vbscript using SendKeys. I saved hours back in the day cloning marksheets and changing resultsets before they made a routine for it.
