sarahstacey Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 Good morning, I'm currently having conversations with our school nurse about how she records visits to the surgery and medications given etc. This information is currently recorded on paper and locked away. We are looking at whether it would be more practical (or not) to move to an online system, whether that be our MIS (PASS), spreadsheets or something else. Could I ask for advice please? Does anyone use PASS for this, if so how do you find it? Any other systems you would recommend? Many thanks for your help. Sarah
enjay Posted January 23, 2019 Posted January 23, 2019 I'm guessing you're an independent school (otherwise your school nurse would be NHS, so recording it on their system not yours anyway). MIS is certainly one option, and would serve to centralise the information but it might also make it more widely available than is appropriate. A spreadsheet of some form might be more appropriate. Or go for the cheap-and-dirty solution of scanning the paper forms the nurse is currently locking away. 1
ordeology Posted January 23, 2019 Posted January 23, 2019 We use Evolve Accident Book which we also use for Trips 1
DalekSec Posted January 23, 2019 Posted January 23, 2019 I didn't set it up, but we use iSams's Medical Manager for this. 1
sarahstacey Posted January 28, 2019 Author Posted January 28, 2019 Thanks for the replies, yes we are an indpendent school. I've convinced our nurse to trial our MIS and see how she gets on with it. I'm a bit loath to buy in another piece of software if we can use something we already have. Unless PASS doesn't provide all the functionality we need. A spreadsheet may be an option, we will see how it goes.
Edu-IT Posted January 28, 2019 Posted January 28, 2019 We use Evolve Accident Book which we also use for Trips Do you know what this costs?
ordeology Posted January 28, 2019 Posted January 28, 2019 @Edu-IT our price is for a MAT of five schools it came in at around £2500 I wasn't heavily involved so I don't know if that was just the first year cost or not and that price I think was just for the accident book add on I've no idea how much the trips part costs. And I realize that answer is probably completely unhelpful... 1
Maurice_Moss Posted July 5, 2019 Posted July 5, 2019 At our site they opted to use medical tracker ( linked to our MIS via Groupcall Xporter on Demand )
