I've manually created a team for all my heads of year, and they want a shared calendar that they can all enter into to see what each otehr is doing regarding meetings etc. (there's 11 of them)

However the team is automatically appearing within the "Groups" section of Outlook or in my group calendars like some have in the past. How do i make a team show up in Outlook groups and Group calendars?

Ok i think i worked this out.

If i create a team site in sharepoint, and add users that way, the group gets automatically added to the users outlook/OWA in the groups section, and they see the calendar in all group calendars. However if i create the group, as i did previously, via teams, it doesn't work......thanks microsoft. GG.

MS made a change a while ago, it was in the notices in O365 admin, that groups made in teams will be hidden by default in the GAL etc... that was a change last year which hides things better given you may not want your GAL cluttered with random groups.

You can change the behaviour or manually show or hide groups using powershell

Thank you :D I thought something wasn't working properly somewhere! I'll lookup the powershell commands and make a note of that for the future.

Alright now I'm completely confused.

When you add the team calendar i created, you're able to add it to "Other calendars" in outlook as well as in "All group calendars" and it looks different in both...for some reason i can't access anything anyone put into it if they've added it to "Other calendars" why are there two ways to add the calendar from the same group and you end up with two entirely different calendars!?

That sounds weird! You using office 365 for exchange? What do you see in Web view which would be totally live. You can view group calendars via that using a long url to jump right to it to check how it is.

In OWA I can't add any "Other Calendars" with that name, but in Outlook i can add what looks like the same calendar to "All Group Calendars" and "Other Calendars" and they act as two entirely separate calendars, the one in Other Calendars is wrong, and also appears to have tons of "Busy" entries, and no one has access to any of it. So i've no idea where on earth that came from.

I think i need to update everyone to Office C2R is they want to use Outlook....2016 doesn't appear to work properly with the functionality I'm trying to use.

Oh poo, I've found why it doesn't work. It's a feature of a much much newer version of office. The only way i could put it on staff PCs would be by installing one of the Monthly Channel builds......didn't realise i had done that on my PC.

I'm on 16.0.11126.20192 on my desktop and the calendars section is a bit more "integrated" than previous versions.

The Semi-Annual Channel (Targeted) version i've deployed is build 10730.20102 I'll try the latest semi-annual channel build and see if it's a feature of any of those, but i suspect it's going to need an even newer build that's in the monthly channel.

AH HA!

It does exist in my Semi-Annual Channel build. However for some reason the "All Group Calendars" part doesn't show up in the Calendars section.

However when i do CTRL+6 to get into folder view, and go right to the bottom i can find it listed. I can also click on the group and then select calendar from the top section and it opens it in a new window.....bloody hell microsoft don't make it easy do you? :D
