We learned the HUGE news just last night that Jason Reitman, son of Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II director Ivan Reitman, is co-writing and directing a brand new installment in the Ghostbusters franchise, which will take place in the *original* universe. Yes, Reitman is making a sequel to the 1984 classic, and he’s written it with Gil Kenan (Monster House).

 

Reitman plans to shoot the film this summer, with Sony planning to release the latest sequel in Summer 2020...

It likes like it's going to be called Ghostbusters: Afterlife.

There is some fan rage going on apparently due to them not calling it Ghostbusters III.

I rather liked the reboot, I might be the only person saying that though!

 

However, GB3 trailer looks very promising indeed!

It all looks bit too serious at a glance. I'm hoping the next trailer (because every film has to have multiple trailers, these days...) shows it as having a bit more of a comedic element to it.

 

Production value looks high though. I'm tentatively hopeful.

The first one is still my fave of all time so I hope its good.
