Not sure i follow. What exactly is it you want to do with the MP3s?

I use iTunes - Apple - iPod + iTunes

You don't need an iPod to use it.

You could try Media Studio Manager from Zortam. I have used it in the past, it's handy and it's free.

Zortam Mp3 Media Studio 7.95 - Reviews and free Music Management downloads at ZDNet.co.uk

I use gnuMP3d, its a program that runs on linux and it will make your music web accessible and you can stream it, it also orginises it (sort of) and will let you search it etc..

Take a look here it can probably explain it better than me

Features | Amarok

Amarok rocks !

just choose mysql/postgres as your backend database

Do you mean for managing an offline collection? ie you burn it all to DVDs and don't keep it on the PC, or online - ie just managing files on the PC?

Offline - MP3Collector (not free), MP3Cat (free)

Online - JRiver MediaJukebox, ITunes etc etc
