Backing up entire 1and1 inbox

I have a user who has an account with 1and1 webmail and he needs to backup his entire inbox. Approx 15GB.

The webmail interface only allows you to backup about 50 emails at a time. This will take forever and frankly be annoying.

 

Does anyone know a way to save it all?

Configure Outlook to access the inbox. Wait for 15GB so sync and then export to a .PST file.

That works for the first 50 mails.

It won’t do entire inbox.

It depends where you want to have it "backed up", personally I'd suggest using IMAP Sync to just copy the data to another mailbox as a backup:

At least that way the mailbox data is duplicated should the user ever need to refer back to the "snapshot" they can just login to the mailbox they used to sync the mail over to. It's also a useful tool when moving mail providers

I've just done this for my daughter's emails, I added the account to a google account and pulled all the emails into Gmail. She only had about 1.2gb in there so it didnt take long and didnt hit the storage limit. But, if you have Google for Edu then storage won't be a problem.
