thesk8rjesus Posted November 21, 2018 Posted November 21, 2018 I don't know if anyone else has come up against this issue yet. We have Chromebooks that have the capability to install android apps, and as such we have pushed out some from the Admin console. The problem is that the Chromebooks will not connect to the play store at all. If we put the Chromebooks on a wireless that has un-filtered access it works fine and the apps download. We spoke with EXA about it and they have said they can't unblock it without unblocking all keyword filtering on Google, which is not something we are willing to do. Has anyone come up against the same problem?
PotNoodleTech Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 Yeh I am having the same problem with Local Authority provided internet using fortigate filters. They just can't seem to get the right sites unbanned to make it work. If I connect to a 4g hotspot it connects straight away, so it is the filtering or firewalling. been banging my head against this brick wall since September!
CyBeRkId2002 Posted November 26, 2018 Posted November 26, 2018 Have you tried checking the logs on the Exa portal to see exactly what URL's are being filtered? Might give you some idea's on how you could workaround it.
thesk8rjesus Posted November 26, 2018 Author Posted November 26, 2018 Yeah, this is something I have looked at and we were able to get the images unblocked, but then it got to unblocking the downloads and EXA said that they would need to turn off Google keyword filtering before being able to allow it.
