Copying registry from one PC to another

I have one PC amongst 35 others in my ICT suite that has a piece of software (Impero) that I need to remove before installing another version of it. The problem is it leaves literally hundreds of instances littered around the registry. The last time I did it I had to go through the whole registry searching on 'Impero' and deleting it which took ages.

My question is, can I take a copy of the registry from another PC and overwrite the registry on the problem PC or will this cause problems?

Basically, no, you can't. What would be worth doing is noting each registry entry you delete so that you can script it in future. 95% of the entries you find will be guff and won't cause issues if left. CCleaner may also be able to do it for you. You can also use software to analyse the registry changes before and after you clean it up, to record and ease the process.
