we are currently in a trial period with this kit and would like to know if anyone else is using it, or indead anything similar.

 

Although I like it, I want to have a look at similar products that do a similar job and compare the functionality and price.

Darktrace has raised a total of $229.5M in funding over 6 rounds. Their latest funding was raised on Sep 26, 2018 from a Series E round.

 

I'm not sure I'd risk it unless its cheap enough that you could afford for the contract to go pear shaped. BT has had contracts with complete dogs before such as Phorm and Rocking Frog.

Regardless of the tech, it has the appearance of a web of corruption.

In a massive fall from grace for a man once crowned finance director of the year, Autonomy’s former chief financial officer and ex-Darktrace director Sushovan Hussain has been found guilty of fraud by a San Francisco court.

 

As part of a long-running criminal court battle that will shortly be replicated East of the Atlantic in the London civil courts, Hewlett Packard alleged that, prior to its $11bn acquisition of Autonomy in 2011 – part of its concerted effort to move into the software industry – senior Autonomy managers inflated the company’s financial position.

 

Meg Whitman, HP’s former chief executive officer, claimed that Autonomy’s management had created false transactions to overstate the company’s performance, and in 2012 HP wrote off $5bn, blaming serious accounting irregularities.

 

A 12-member federal jury this week agreed, convicting Hussain of 16 counts of wire and securities fraud. The verdict precedes a $5.1bn civil suit brought by HP in the UK against Hussain and Autonomy’s founder and former CEO Mike Lynch, scheduled to begin next year. Lynch is counter-suing for $160m, claiming lost investment opportunities due to reputational damage. He has strongly rejected HP’s claims that management misled HP over the company’s value.

Former Autonomy directors and two Deloitte partners could face disciplinary action over the Cambridge software firm's controversial $11bn take-over by Hewlett Packard.

 

The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) is taking action against ex-Autonomy pair Sushovan Hussain and Stephen Chamberlain. The accountancy watchdog alleges the pair, Autonomy's former finance director and deputy finance director respectively, "acted dishonestly and/or recklessly" when preparing and approving Autonomy’s annual report and accounts for the financial years 2009 and 2010, prior to its sale to Hewlett Packard in 2011 in a deal worth $11bn.

 

A year later, American software giant HP wrote down $8.8bn from the value of the deal, alleging that the Autonomy management falsely inflated the value of their company, a charge company founder Mike Lynch and his team deny.

 

In addition Deloitte, Autonomy's auditor, and two of its partners, Richard Knights and Nigel Mercer, have been charged by the FRC with failing to adequately to challenge Autonomy’s accounting during the period.

 

A date for the tribunal hearing has yet to be set.

I know this is an old post, however I an curious to know how the trial went with Darktrace?

The product was/is superb but we just couldn't afford it.

 

I think we were quoted just over £10k + vat per annum at the time and that was for a small school.

Yep same here. £10-12K for basics up to I think £36k. Could not justify it any which way as cool as it looks.
