Is there a way to fast switch between Surface Pro screen and external monitor?

Hello,

 

Our head just has got a monitor for their Surface pro. After plugging in the monitor we have the same image on both and I cant see the normal F No. key that most laptops have to fast switch the output.

 

Basically we need the Surface Pro screen to turn off when the external monitor is plugged in but turn on when its removed.

What about using Windows-Key and P? (As in hold down the windows key and press P to cycle through the dual monitor modes)

If you have a connected desktop keyboard and mouse, you can also just close the Surface keyboard cover lid and it'll have the same effect. Works with Surface docks at least.
