My understanding is that Atomwide accounts are assigned to individuals and not organisations. When leaving, do we keep them or are they removed?

I've previously changed schools and retained it but only because I did a move inside the local authority from one LGfL school to another. My next move is across county borders.

I believe they give you a new one for a different LA, because the three-digit code at the end is different.

e.g. I started in Croydon (blahblah.306), and am now in Hounslow (blahblah.313)

Hi From my understand your USO can have a alias attached so it this can be moved from one local authority to the next or from the same authority , it’s a bit like a teacher working in Haringey goes to Brent only the .318 part of the uso changes when the user starts, if they want old emails kept you match them up when they start.

old accounts gets removed as it sync's with Sims as long as the school has given a finish date, nominated contact for the school can enable or disable the mailbox after...

Hi

The email account is created by the school for school communications, I don't know of any organisations private or public that would let you take your business account and use it outside of that business. Best practice would be export your emails and contacts and transfer them to your new account whatever that would be.

Also if I remember your staff mail account uses USO credentials that may give you access to resources that you are not entitled to anymore as you do not work at that establishment and not to mention that horrible 4 letter word GDPR

So if you need an account that will follow you throughout your profession, I would suggest one of the big players i.e google msn etc...

good luck

if you move within the borough all your emails stay with you, last time i queried this, they suggested I create shared mailboxes for every user this way I could stop them accessing their email relating to their old school....

We moved to GMail shortly after that.
