My days of getting excited about Google hardware ended when the first Pixel was unveiled. They were exciting times, though. The original Nexus 7 was probably my biggest "shut up and take my money" moment.

Surprised the new pixels lack of edge to edge display, the XLs chin bar is huge!!! Bigger than my last gen samsung.

apparently its only 8mm which isnt that big! My original Pixel has a bigger chin.

Same, I loved the Nexus 7. I just prefer the Nexus/Pixel line of phones to anything else as I like stock Android, yes I can root phones but I cant be bothered with the hassle.

I stuck with a Nexus 5 for yonks, then went for a Nokia 6. Liked the look of it, but also liked the sound of their approach to updates. On Android 8.1 with September security update. Several price brackets lower than a Pixel, but definitely feels like it fills the gap left behind by Nexus.

Not a fan of digital assistants, either, which makes a lot of this hardware a no for me.

Watches aside, it does feel like Google have a much more cohesive and settled line of products. Chromecast, Pixel 1/2/3 and Home seem a world away from the weird stuff like Nexus Q, different manufacturers/designs for each Nexus phone and whatever Android TV was.

The Pixel 3 XL is already available to buy in Hong Kong. :)

The notch and chin doesn't look that bad IMO.

the possibility of a pixel watch.

No Pixel watches this year.

I think the second-gen PixelBook will be quite interesting, especially if it can dual-boot Windows 10 like the rumours suggest.

The keyboard for the Pixel Slate on the other-hand looks a little silly with its rounded keys.

So I rang up EE to check if my upgrade is due and said I was interested in the Pixel 3. The guy confirmed there would be two phones and likely delivery date would be 1st November!

....buy a google pixel and you get 6 months of apple music.......wat?

They do that with almost all their phones. I keep getting texts to say I can get six months free with a promo code.

Its like Apple dont want to make any money from it!

I think this is EE's offer, rather than Google's.

You're right though. It would make more sense to give people 6 months of YouTube Music or Spotify instead.

Edit. What hardtailstar said. I also get the same texts from EE. :)

Buy a Pixel 3 or Home Hub from Google and you'll now get 6 months of YouTube Music or YouTube Music Premium. :)

Ohhh shiny things!

I'm rocking the Pixel 2 XL and loving it still. It's a brilliant phone.

Side note, the prices these days are a little mad so I went SIM Only. 18 month interest free credit card, grab the phone outright and then signed up to Virgin for £18 a month (40GB data (which rolls over month on month so currently at 78GB), unlimited calls and texts). Saved a fortune and not stuck in a crappy 24 month contract :)
