CHiLL Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 I'm wondering how people have access to this already. The only thing I can see in VLSC is "Office Online Server 64 Bit English", whatever that is.

You've got to download it with the Office Deployment Tool Am just trying to work out how to do it myself, if anyone has an XML file that would be appreciated!

Yeah, the penny dropped as soon as I pressed "Submit Reply"! I'm now working on the XML too.

mullet_man Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 Yeah, the penny dropped as soon as I pressed "Submit Reply"! I'm now working on the XML too. Mines doing something but doesn't seem to be downloading anything - - - Updated - - - I thought they'd decided that you had to request any KMS key as MAK was now preferred. Not sure how this makes sense. I suspected I might have to request it, not sure why as well. As a MAK key could easily be compromised and shared out?
FN-GM Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 Just an FYI. Office 2019 isn't supported by SIMS so proceed with caution if you use it.

FN-GM Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 Thanks yeah this is just for my PC at the minute. It wasn't aimed at you really. Just anyone out there :-)
mullet_man Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 It wasn't aimed at you really. Just anyone out there :-) haha! - saying that I can't even work the XML file to download to my PC.
Blue_Cookeh Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 In case anyone is interested, here is the XML I created: The above installs Office 2019 from the location where you downloaded the Office files to. Doesn't install OneDrive, Lync or Groove, removes all previous versions of Office and doesn't display any installation window. If you want it to automatically activate, add the following line after FYI if you're using a KMS key it is baked into the install already. You need to remove the PIDKEY value entirely, only use that if you're using MAK. Also if you're deploying with something like SCCM you can remove the SourcePath value and it'll pull from the Office folder next to setup.exe.
maark Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 Why do Microsoft make everything so needlessly complicated? Two versions one which needs messing around with xml - I bet the licensing is indecipherable as well. Oh well keeps us in a job though it is one more reason to use google apps instead. 1

Thanks - mines mostly the same expect for the excluding apps bit. It seems to creating the Office\Data folder and then 16.0.10336.20044 and puts in 3 files and then does nothing else. Does it take a while to download?
free780 Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 I had this just make sure your xml is correct. Also you may need certain office domains to be allowed unauthenticated via your proxy.
old_n07 Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 I thought they'd decided that you had to request any KMS key as MAK was now preferred. Not sure how this makes sense. I can't see a 2019 KMS key in VLSC? Is it a key we need to request? I can the 2019 MAK key. Yes. The contact details you need can be found here. I have just done the same. Thats strange as I can see KMS and MAK keys in our VLS portal for office 2019
Arthur Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 (edited) That's strange as I can see KMS and MAK keys in our VLS portal for office 2019 Is that the KMS host key for Office 2019 under Relationship Summary > your agreement number > Product Keys? Edited September 25, 2018 by Arthur
Arthur Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 Do we need to download the 2019 files using ODT Correct. can we install from the files extracted from the O2019 ISO from VLS? The only ISOs I see are for Office Online Server which is probably not what you want.

I had the keys from Downloads and keys > Office Professional Plus 2019 (search) > and the Key option next to downloads But there are KMS keys under relationship summary as well Edited September 25, 2018 by old_n07
mullet_man Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 I just get this, am going to leave it running overnight and see if it's downloaded anything in the morning.
Arthur Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 But there are KMS keys under relationship summary as well That's the one I am missing. How did you get it so quickly?
Blue_Cookeh Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 E-mail with your agreement number asking for it to be added - last time I did it they sorted me out in a couple of hours. 1
Arthur Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 E-mail with your agreement number asking for it to be added - last time I did it they sorted me out in a couple of hours. I e-mailed . Should I have used instead, or does it go to the same team?
Blue_Cookeh Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 I e-mailed . Should I have used instead, or does it go to the same team? Heh probably the same people if they both work!
Arthur Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 Heh probably the same people if they both work! I just checked and have received a confirmation e-mail from the KMS Support Team (although interestingly it came from so it looks like Microsoft have outsourced the licensing stuff to a third-party).
mullet_man Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 Ive decided am going to investigate Office 365 instead of deploying 2019, ill need to sort out my licensing but I might as well as am would need to contact MS to ask for the KMS keys to be added so might as well start the ball rolling to get the A1 Plus licenses needed for O365.
