kestrel1 Posted September 14, 2018 Posted September 14, 2018 Possibly been covered before, but couldn't find it. We have a student that had their access to email removed by a former colleague. I am assuming they used power shell to do this, but I may be wrong. We now need to give this student access to email once more. When I go in to the admin center I am told that the user doesn't have an Exchange licence. I cannot see how I can give this user the Exchange licence via the admin center. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Boredguy Posted September 14, 2018 Posted September 14, 2018 In the Office 365 Admin console, Select to Edit a user and find the user in question. Under Product Licences, click Edit If they have a licence applied it should show as "On" and there is a drop down on the left of the licence name which expands the box so you can turn on and off certain portions of the licence such as the Exchange Online Plan 1
Chrism03 Posted September 14, 2018 Posted September 14, 2018 Dependent on the licence you have it should be under the product licence section for that user (assuming the user is an active user, not deleted) For us its: Exchange Online (Plan 1) for students Also under Mail setting (further down the page) there is Email Apps, it is possible to block the user there by blocking all apps 1
kestrel1 Posted September 14, 2018 Author Posted September 14, 2018 Hi Both, Many thanks for the replies. I was clearly being a numpty I looked yesterday where you have said and didn't see what was clearly staring me in the face. It was right at the bottom of the Office365 A1 for students licence. Thanks once again.
Boredguy Posted September 14, 2018 Posted September 14, 2018 Don't worry it's doesn't exactly jump out and say "Click here to see the licence parts you have turned on and off". It says on so you think that's all that's needed 1
