Just got an email from Mr Gates saying I can't use OE to access my hotmail account after June and I'll have to upgrade to Windows Live something or other :sob:

 

I suppose, Windows 98SE will be replaced soon as well?

You sure its not a new version of the regular hoax saying Hotmail will be closed down next week due to you not having a premium account?

Its quite a technical email quoting things about OE having trouble downloading large inboxes and its only saying OE won't work with hotmail accounts after june 08 - so if its a joke its not a very good one

Its been my trusted email client since before you were born (well maybe not that long )

 

Mind u - that new Windows Live thingy looks about the same so I should be OK

I use Outlook Express as my news reader and I have never found anything better - including XNews etc.

 

Vista tries to update you to Windows Live Desktop Mail thingy, but even though it's better for email, for news-reading it's crap. Once you install it though, OE is gone forever and you need a clean install to get it back :-(

I've been using Windows Live Email thingy-me-bob for a while now for my hotmail account. Havent had any issues with it and i used to use Outlook Express. The only thing that may annoy you is how it ignores your computers theme and does its own 'fancy' vistary/windows live look...
