Windows 10 - Services.msc remembers last connected machine

This is a really minor issue, but i can see it's going to end up bugging me....

 

With Windows 7, opening services.msc would default to your local machine and you could just connect to a remote one. However Windows 10 appears to remember the last machine you connected to, and if that machine is off it takes ages to open the window while that times out. Anyone know how to stop it from remembering your last connection and attempting to connect?

 

If everyone turns around and says "that doesn't happen to me" I'm going to be so annoyed I've already got a device that needs me to enable test mode/turn off driver signature enforcement to use it, which is frustrating enough. Not getting on well with Windows 10 on my admin machine

Well, first of all... it's not just you. Happened to me since I started with Windows 10. Though I just switch back after finishing with it. I'll have a look though and see if there is anyway it can be controlled to reset though. If anyone else finds a solution I would be interested though.

Ok, do this...

Delete the file C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\MMC\services.

Open and close Services.msc (you will note it now shows the Local machine).

Change C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\MMC\services attributes to Read Only.

EDIT: Oh can even force it to remember to stay in standard rather than extended view and remember the window size. Now.....can we do the same with the dhcp admin window?
