Ripleys Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 Hi Guys, I have a very odd problem and I am unable to resolve it. We have an NEC M230X projector in one of our classrooms. According to the manual it is stuck in standby/power saving mode. I have tried plugging into the PC Control port, however, the projector cannot be recognised because it is in standby/power saving mode. I have tried connecting the VGA into Computer 1 IN and reboot the computer to send signals to the projector. This does not work either. Why have this feature if nothing can be done to turn it back on. Is there anyway I can factory reset this projector without having to turn it on? Cheers
christhetech Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 Try pressing the Off or Help button on the remote and holding it for 10-15 seconds. This should reset the lamp time clock back to zero, which should fix the issue.
Ripleys Posted September 13, 2018 Author Posted September 13, 2018 Hi Chris, This didn't work. I believe it's because it is stuck in power saving mode. Such a useless feature. I don't know who enabled it or why they did.

FishCustard Posted January 16, 2019 Posted January 16, 2019 Can you just pull the power cable out to reboot?
snagrat Posted January 16, 2019 Posted January 16, 2019 Can you just pull the power cable out to reboot? No just goes back to solid red light on the power button
TechMofo Posted January 17, 2019 Posted January 17, 2019 Try pulling the power cable out of the back, and hold the menu button actually on the projector for 15~ seconds or so when plugging back in.
Ripleys Posted January 21, 2019 Author Posted January 21, 2019 I did not. In the end I had to downgrade the board/projector with a Sanyo XE40. I did ring NEC about it but all they said is "send it to us" which we do not have the green to do.
