kennysarmy Posted September 5, 2018 Posted September 5, 2018 Just had 23 copiers installed over the summer as part of a managed print contract (to replace our 4 year old Sharps) During testing this week we've discovered that students can browse to the IP address of the copier and upload documents to print! Totally bypassing our Papercut system! See attached: Has anyone with Xerox copiers found a way to turn this feature off? The installers have said they REALLY don't want to turn on the IP FILTERING option in case they get locked out!
Steve21 Posted September 5, 2018 Posted September 5, 2018 Not sure about Xerox specifically but as you seem to be on the guest page, most have an option to disable guest/unauthenticated access etc. It used to be under properties, login/accounting, user permissions, non-logged in etc but might want to test it as not used Xerox in a long time. Fazza Posted September 5, 2018 Posted September 5, 2018 As a 'quick fix' if you use a classroom management program like Impero you could block the URLs whilst you get it sorted. This sort of thing does annoy me though as your managed print solution provider should be looking in to this and contacting Xerox themselves if they dont know how to stop this feature as there must be way.
p858snake Posted September 5, 2018 Posted September 5, 2018 VLAN the MFDs so only the servers/papercut can access… 2
