[mdt] W10 - 60GB SSD - Windows could not finish configuring the system

Hi,

 

I'm trying to image some laptops which have a 60GB or 64GB SSD installed with our new Windows 10 image. However I'm getting stuck just before the OOBE with a 'Windows Setup could not configure Windows to run on this computer’s hardware". If I replace the SSD with a larger 120GB version it will image fine. Which to start with suggested a 60GB SSD formatted wasn't big enough, but once everything is installed Windows reports around 30GB usage on the larger SSD. So I can see if being a storage space issue but could be wrong.

 

Any ideas? This is happening on multiple machines but always with the 60 or 64GB SSD's.

My thoughts are that with the various updates that automatically flow to W10 60GB just isn't big enough. I have found that 128GB SSD drives speedily get 'full' and need monitoring to ensure that old data is frequently removed.

Which deployment tool are you using?

BIOS or UEFI?

 

In your Diskpart script remove the extra partitions.

 

If using SCCM apply the WIM directly from DP, by default it will download and apply.

 

Is the WIM direct from the ISO or a reference image with applications?
