Phone system is due to go live at the end of the month and I now have 2 Gamma SIP Trunks in place (with 2 Channels each) and our existing numbers will be ported over.

I am about to add these number to the DDI section on SIP Trunks and have a couple of quick questions....

Do I need to put the DDI Numbers on to each SIP Trunk? - I'm guessing yes, otherwise the DDI Numbers will only working on the SIP Trunk they have been assigned to - is that correct?

So, if I have DDI numbers signed to both SIP Trunks, they will be listed twice when I come to assign the DDI to an extension - so (again guessing) I would need assign the both duplicate DDI Numbers to the extension.

Does that sound about right - or do I need to go away drink more coffee and then come back again :D

Why do you have 2 sip trunks?

That what we were advised moving from ISDN to SIP.

Almost all the suppliers I approached mentioned multiple SIP Trunks.

There is often confustion with the terminology as trunks and channels can be used interchangeably.

Typicllay yout would have a trunk per range of DDIs or site for management / accounting purposes, then each trunk will have multiple channels; a channel per call.

When a DDI is called, I'd expect gamma only have it allocated to a single trunk, and so that will be the trunk it uses to reach your PBX. You will need to assign the DDIs to what ever trunk Gamma have assigned them to. I doubt it's both of them.

As above - trunks and channels are often used interchangeably or indeed erroneously. We are with spitfire and they refer to a single channel as a single trunk, yet a trunk could also be used to denote a group of multiple channels within a single trunk.

Whichever it is though, 2 seems an odd number. It seems to be, though I may be wrong, that you will either have 2 trunks containing multiple channels in each (overkill?) or 2 trunks (i.e. channels) which seems quite minimal (but depends on size of site). We have 6 SIP channels for 6 external calls simultaneously, although 4 would suffice "most" of the time.

Sorry - i have well and truly confused myself - it documentation shows 2 endpoint which I read as 2 SIP Trunks, - Yes there are 2 SIP Trunk but one being a failover

SIP Trunks are an imaginary product invented by telephone companies who were going to lose money when you switched to VoIP, it's just a connection to a server.
