Dos_Box Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 Never done the blind taste test thing before, but Pepsi are up and down the country this month testing Pepsi Max against a 'leading competitors' regular drink (guess whose!). Pepsi is a weird one. I like their drink more than Coke as a standalone, but prefer Coke as a mixer with drinks. You can find out more on where they will be here - https://www.pepsi.co.uk/
Norphy Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 I'm one of those unusual people who doesn't like Cola in general. Coke, Pepsi, whatever, it's all vile as far as I'm concerned.
ShellfishClive Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 The test should be quite easy, I don't drink Coke that much as it's super sticky on my teeth it's an instant giveaway. I drink an unhealthy amount of Pepsi Max though. 2
bald_pig Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 I drink an unhealthy amount of Pepsi Max though. I used to as well until I realised it was making me quite ill... should be an easy test though!
Katy Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 One day I'm gonna get pepsi, diet pepsi, pepsi max and pepsi max cherry and get someone to put them into glasses without saying which is which... then try and see if I can tell

Katy Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 diet pepsi and pepsi max are identical I think... Nope, Diet Pepsi tastes a bit further away from full sugar Pepsi than Pepsi Max does - if I have to swap between them (cause one is sold out) I can tell I've changed. Not as far apart as Diet Coke and Coke Zero are though.

synaesthesia Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 Diet pepsi and coke both have an aftertaste too reminiscent of the old cheap sweeteners you put in tea. Max isn't anywhere near as bad by any means but as others have said, Coke is outright sticky. Oddly enough my current preference for mixers is Aldi's own brand cola; goes down lovely with Jim Bean's Red Stag.
DalekSec Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 Why would i drink Coke or Pepsi when there is Irn Bru? Also pepsi makes me gassy AF
christhetech Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 Why would i drink Coke or Pepsi when there is Irn Bru? Also pepsi makes me gassy AF That was it's original raison d'etre. Pepsi was originally sold by pharmacists as a cure for dyspepsia, hence the name Pepsi.
Arthur Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 Also pepsi makes me gassy AF I find Dr Pepper is great for making you burp.

I drink an unhealthy amount of Pepsi Max though.I drank an unhealthy amount of Pepsi Max last year. Probably about 3-4 litres a day. I gave it up at the beginning of the year along with all fizzy drinks. I've noticed im not 'buzzing' around, I can sleep at night better and my skin is clearer. Into my 8th month this year of no fizzy drinks. The only new year resolution I've kept so far!
Andrew_C Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 Why drink either when England makes such a wide range of fine beer?
mavhc Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 Why drink either when England makes such a wide range of fine beer? If you're not a fan of alcohol. Just drink water, it's free
