korifugi Posted July 19, 2018 Posted July 19, 2018 I remember a previous site I worked at a loooong time ago we were moving a large number of machines around on a trolley during the six weeks holidays, I got the fine art of riding the empty trolley down the corridor and straight into one of the IT suites we were moving kit from/to. There was a 90 degree turn at the end of the corridor - just before the entrance to the I.T. suite. Unbeknownst to me - the head was in and was very surprised when a trolley being ridden/steered by a junior 'tech thundered past a mere few inches from his nose. In the split second I had to think - my brain decided it was a good idea to say "Hi !" as I flew past, no point in being rude, is there? Luckily he had a very good sense of humour and merely suggested I may want to really make sure there's no-one about to get ran over. That said - where I am now, we'll very occasionally use food tech for a departmental fry-up (we just make sure we clean up after ourselves)
hardtailstar Posted July 19, 2018 Posted July 19, 2018 As soon as the bell goes for end of term here, the teachers are out the gate!
mikeprice Posted July 19, 2018 Posted July 19, 2018 Before I retired my lot used to gather somewhere and then head for the pub They were always puzzled as to why I was always late to the pub reason - as you all know - was that I went round all the rooms switching off projectors, PCs, monitors and other assorted stuff that they had left on before a 6 week break 1
