Hello,

Can someone point me in the right direction on how to make packages purchased via Creative Cloud please? Everything I seem to do requires a user to sign in when opening the software.

Thanks

Just tried this out. I don't have the same options as the video.

I only seem to have licence key and named licence.

I don't have any keys as none are provided with this product and I don't want users having to sign in.

Thanks

This is what I see, Device Licence lets us untick Creative Cloud Desktop Application.

I was interested in changing our licencing to the following that was sent to me by Pugh, although our account manager there says Adobe are not being very forthcoming about the details of the new licencing structure, the last thing I want is all our users having to sign in!

"

Adobe have announced the availability of Adobe Creative Cloud named user licenses for just $5 per license, minimum purchase of 500 users per school or 2,500 users for a district. Students can now continue their school work with Creative Cloud at home, not just in the classroom."

We had similar issue recently, try opening creative cloud package, top right hand corner log out of your account.

Once signed out click the first option Creative cloud for teams/education and sign in again, go to the create package and see if you have the new options for license type

This fixed it...

However it is still asking people to login!

What application? I’ve just moved over to the names license from an enterprise license and it’s a PITA that’s for sure!

Out of all the apps in my package Lightroom is the one asking for a logon but I’ve yet to spend anytime troubleshooting it.

HA! Same boat as me then, school use like 3 apps from the entire suite yet we have to buy it all because no-one will accept alternatives (£6.8k per year is ridiculous for 3 apps), anyways I digress.

I have a package made now so will stand up a test machine and deploy via SCCM and let you know the results.

If its any help to you I worked out the whole de-activation via portal scenario and re-activation. In short - Licenses can be de-activated either by the portal or students going to Help and then "Sign-Out" (genius I know!), you create the license package through the packager and it spits out a folder which you can then just run the .exe /S and it will re-license the machine (obviously copy the license package to the machine and run). Previously you use to have to use the PKTG or something with the license key.

I was looking at getting the K-12 schools pack minimum of 25 for £528 a year. I assume this would be a 25 device license. How much of a pain is it for each new student to those machines?

Sorry chap don't quite understand what your asking here?

Licenses are either named user or device.

This is what I normally do...

  1. Select Creative Cloud for Education (top option).

  2. Sign in with the relevant Adobe credentials.

  3. Select Create Package.

  4. Enter package name, select a folder to save the package to, choose Device License and your Deployment Pool.

  5. Uncheck the Creative Cloud Desktop Application. Click Next.

Sounds to me that you have the wrong licences and these are named user licences not device based licences, I would check with your supplier?

Sorry to necro an old thread but anyone had any issues getting this one out on SCCM ?

Created a package wand did a batch file simply doing START /WAIT setup.exe - - silent (both dashes are together in script) but I keep getting an error 7 in adobe logs which apparently is generic...

This is part of a TS but can’t see that making a difference

Can you directly interact with the MSI’s now properly? Previously you had to run the exe from the packager. Documentation still states to interact with the exe and was updated a few months back.

Never used the exe directly, it's only a small 900KB wrapper to call the MSI etc :p Might be worth a try

(If you mean the Adobe SCCM docs it's still 2007 setup it uses)

So that went well... Tried calling the MSI and MSIEXEC reckons its corrupt however doing an MD5 Checksum both the original created package and the deployment have the same Checksum :confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

Anywho....

Ran the setup.exe with nothing and the bl**dy things installs on my first test machine, great... However it has the OK confirmation at the end... So no go.

Now deploying to 2nd machine and have SCCM call the .exe with --silent instead of calling on a batch file which runs the .exe with the silent switch...

Baching head against wall here.

.exe --silent works when copying the package manually and running via a CMD prompt but does not want to work when called from a batch file ???

Just awaiting to see what happens when SCCM calls the .exe with the silent switch, 10.5gb everytime for a test... zzzzzz

Ok so success with the .exe --install straight from the run package command line.

What a load of :censored:!

It can be an application just clear the Content location. Specify the fullpath.

Be aware if you want it in a Task Sequence you msut use a Collection Variable as Task Sequences dont like applications without content.

TBH the days of everything being an MSI are gone/going.

It may be best to test using a admin cmd to get the correct switch. Use a VM and take a snapshot before any installation. Using a exe means it can check/install prereqs where MSI' can be more difficult.

Though MS seem to want to move to MSIX https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/MSIX/ct-p/MSIX .
