RIP Harlan Ellison

SF author Harlan Ellison passed away in his sleep June 27th.

 

He was probably best known as a consultant on B5, for writing the Original Trek episode "The City on the Edge of Forever" (the one where they go back in time and Kirk falls in love with Joan Collins), and getting a credit for "Terminator" after a lawsuit.

 

The latter highlights what he was also known for: his extraordinary litigiousness. That, and failing to release the final volume of an anthology commissioned in 1973 and being... somewhat abrasive. He did write some great stories, though.
