Theldron Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 Hi all, Looking for a new laptop as my 6 year old HP is giving up the ghost. I have a budget of around £400 looking at a 14"/15.6", only using it for browsing, netflix/youtube, writing etc. Have seen a couple but wondered if anyone had any recommendations? Like Lenovo and HP, try to avoid Acer (bad experiences), but happy to look at other makes. Cheers
mrbios Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 If you're happy with a refurb one, I've recently heard from ICT Direct that in 3 weeks they're expecting some very nice ones in. Email from them said "T450 - i7 5600U, 12GB RAM, 512GB SSD, 14" Touchscreen, 1920 x 1080 @ £420"
mikkydoos Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 Ebuyer have got some decent HP 250 G6 i3 models with an SSD. I've just had some for about 280.00 ex vat. Theyre very quick but only 120Gb storage due to SSD. Not sure if they have a second drive slot though.
elsiegee40 Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 Take a look at the Dell Outlet http://www.dell.co.uk/outlet I have had some great machines from there over the years
Theldron Posted June 4, 2018 Author Posted June 4, 2018 I wouldn't mind a refurbished laptop at all. What are people's opinions on refurbished IT equipment vs New? I brought a PC for work from ICT Direct and it has been brilliant.
jmak Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 Take a look at the Dell Outlet http://www.dell.co.uk/outlet I have had some great machines from there over the yearsAll my home machines and quite a few school machines came from there. Next day on-site at home is great [emoji3] but prices don't look nearly as attractive now....I wouldn't mind a refurbished laptop at all.
