I'm posting this on here on behalf of our timetable person. Does anybody have experience of setting up timetables for Bromcom, especially for a 2 week layout?

This is our first year of creating a full school timetable from scratch in eTimetabler. She has had the training and also read the manual from cover to cover, but is having some problems with how the system seems to work.

It would appear that there is an awful lot of 'manual' timetabling involved with this software. Currently she has sorted the higher years and is now onto KS3. She wants to be able to put lessons in a useful scattering across the 2 week timetable. However when trying to use the automated feature, it wants to put everything in the first available slots, meaning a lot gets dumped into the first week and nothing in the second. Also, if she has placed a lesson into a timetable block and then wishes to move it, she can't just drag it to a new location. Instead she must right-click and remove and then add it back in again.

Is there some easier way of doing what she needs? If you do the timetables for your school, could I put you in touch with her?

I set her up with 2 large monitors to try and help with the task, but even this has limitations. The main windows keeps dropping out of fullscreen view for no apparent reason. Also, when she views a teachers timetable, it appears locked within the main window, meaning she cannot easily move it to one side (the other screen for instance) to make comparisons easier.

Please excuse my rough descriptions - this side of things is not my area of expertise and when it was being described to me I did hear a lot of words that I didn't understand :) Any Bromcom eTimetable gurus out there - advice and guidance would be appreciated!!

Cheers

Hi themightymrp. Just seen your post.

Our support team and trainers will be able to assist your colleague with the queries they have. Probably best we arrange a phone call. One of my colleagues will be in contact shortly.
