We started using papercut and new photocopiers in November, ever since we keep getting a strange intermittent problem with printing reports from sims.

Sometimes they generate and print fine, then our sims admin can go to print another tutor groups reports and it will sit on printing for up to 10 minutes per student. The machine she's using has enough storage space, and is relatively quick, sims is up to date, i can see the generated xml files in appdata\local\temp but "printing student profile for...." will sit for aggggggggggggges.

Another sims admin can go and print the same or similar reports, and they'll fly through fine while this one continues to take ages.

Anyone got any suggestions on this one? They're printing to a secure print queue with a kyocera driver on papercut 18.1....if any of that even matters. We didn't have this issue when we were using uniflow with our old canon copiers.

Hi,

Is the user having an issue a member of multiple printing groups, we have had a couple of issues with Sim's reports and printing using papercut.

1) The computer didn't have enough ram to process the generating and printing of all the individual reports from Sims. Once upgraded the issues went away.

2) The second was one user who was a member of multiple print groups had to select which department they wanted to be charged to. However, the generation of reports was taking longer than the papercut system would allow for department confirmation (Default set to 10min) so once waiting for all jobs to generate and then selecting the department only the jobs created in the last 10 mins were printed. Resolved this by removing the user from multiple groups so they weren't prompted for a department.
