Shredding Company Wanting to Charge for Waste Transfer Notice (GDPR)

Just been passed this, anyone else had similar? The Duty of Care Waste Transfer Notice isn't a GDPR thing. In my mind they are using that as way of charging extra, thoughts?

I would counter this with 'what new things are you going to be doing to protect the data in transit/destruction they you were not doing under the old DPA - and then why were you not doing them under DPA...

It seems a daft thing to do. It just highlights the charge. If they included that in the cost most people wouldn't notice or care.

This; they should already be providing a waste transfer notice as part of their duty and in fact obligation to do so as a legally registered waste carrier...

Seems like an excuse for a price hike. Odd, because it isn't much (although I don't know what you're paying in total for the service, so as a percentage it might be a lot...) so I would have thought they could just stick it on at renewal.

Not sure what we pay but it does cost us. Wouldn't surprise me if they increase costs if they are taking more collections.. which for us.. certainly is the case.

Surely would have been easier for them to have said something clear and simple "Due to rising costs as a result of ensuring continued compliance with the Data Protection Act and GDPR, we are forced to raise our invoice amount."
