Office 365 connector issue

Hi,

 

We are starting the process of migrating our mailboxes from Exchange 2013 on premises to Office 365. We have gone for a hybrid deployment so will retain our on premises exchange server.

 

I have migrated one user so far and all went well except I cannot send/receive emails externally or between mailboxes still on the exchange server. I can email myself but thats about it.

 

Any ideas where I should look? everything has been setup as per the wizards I haven't done anything manually.

Emails destined for the mailbox in O365 seem to be stuck in the on premises exchange server queue trying to get out on the outbound o365 connector that gets created by default. It doesn't say why though.
