I've unfortunately got a couple of teachers moaning about powerpoints and things in them not playing. Boardworks ones i think.

When opening a powerpoint containing these activeX objects the message "Some controls on this presentation can't be activated. They might not be registered on this computer."

If i try and edit one i get: "An error occurred during creation of an activeX control"

If i try and add one i get: "This ActiveX control cannot be inserted"

ActiveX settings in trust center are fine, should be allowing it (with prompt, but i get no prompt)

I've tried this: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2793374/cannot-insert-certain-scriptable-activex-controls-into-office-2013-doc but that that doesn't appear to help.

At this point I'm unsure if it's a windows update security measure, or something i've disabled in the past to intentionally increase security. Anyone have any suggestions?

EDIT:
