Just told by Very-PC that the discounted licences are back when you purchase devices from registered suppliers.

No sorry but I did use the same address to register that I use with vlsc

OK, signed up, got a PDF, now what?

When you want to order any windows devices you can provide that PDF to your supplier to get discounted pricing. Not sure how much of a discount you get as I haven't tried myself yet.

ARRGG - my .sch.uk not being accepted either. Tried my personal acc and an alias i setup for VLSC both were rejected!!

 

Got error on my personal one that a Micirosft account of theis name already exists so it takes you to the Microsoft account login and then it saiys you are inelligible.

 

The VLSE one went straight to the inelligible screen.

I don't have a problem making zombie threads better than a duplicate thread in my opinion.

 

I have asked VeryPC to see if they can help at their end as MS don't have any e-mail address to appeal to as I'm sure all UK primary schools are eligible?

It's open to all state funded K12 schools. It's a tiered offering which gives you a discount (dependent on the device spec) on the base Windows licence you need on new devices which you then use OVS/ES upgrade rights to install Windows pro on.

 

It's valid for 12 months from registration so even if you're not looking for new kit until next year, it's worth registering because it could be pulled at any time.

 

Let me know if you're having trouble with your email address being rejected.

Education organisations are entitled to the Shape the Future Scheme from Microsoft. The scheme allows us to put the cheapest OS license on client devices so we can drive down the cost as much as possible.

 

This scheme is completely free to Schools and you don’t have to commit to the Microsoft platform to be certified. Full details and sign up can be done via this link - Shape the Future K-12 program | Microsoft Education . Typically this OS is cheaper than our stocked units and Windows 10 Home so it is definitely worth applying for so we can add it to the config.

It gets you cheaper computers, basically. The last time I looked at it, we were saving something like £20-£30 a unit.
