How do you actually get unifi APs to listen to the VLAN provided by RADIUS? I managed to get it to work with the HP access points but the same settings won't work on the Unifi. NPS log shows it's giving out the correct information, the WLAN on unifi is set to use a radius server with dynamic VLAN, where there's already a wlan with the same VLAN assigned static I've taken that out, but devices connect and DHCP off the same VLAN that the AP itself sits on.

 

There is a check box in the Profiles section of the Controller for the Radius Profile:

Enable RADIUS assigned VLAN for wireless network

 

Once this is selected then in the Wireless Networks section the RADIUS assigned VLAN should be selected automatically as long as the correct RADIUS Profile is selected under the Security settings.

 

I followed a youtube video to get mine working in my home lab.

 

EDIT: Having re-read your post, I will try and dig out the YouTube Video. You also have to make sure that the vlans are tagged on the switch ports/profile.

 

I found a Video but I don't think it is the one I used, covers the server setup.

I got it working in the end - I had everything set up correctly, and I wasn't using the same VLAN ID in static and dynamic, the problem was the firmware on the 6 month old AC Pros needed updating - once that was done they just worked as expected. Surprising that something like dynamic VLAN is only a recent addition to them really.
