rad Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 With GDPR Coming into play very soon, what is your view on the control of data using a cloud system such as Google Classroom (G Suite) and been data compliant with GDPR? What is your schools take on it, are you going to stop using it as we don't host and have full control of this information?
Primus Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 This thread might be relevant: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/data-protection-information-handling/189186-g-suite-gdpr-new-data-processing-agreement-google.html In short no plans to change anything, G Suite is GDPR compliant.
CC359 Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 My school will continue using it. It's become quite integral and Google have been transparent about being GDPR compliant.
IrritableTech Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 Google allows your users to remain compliant as long as they follow your procedures. The service it's self can be compliant, users making their google sheet of their class progress list open to 'anyone on the web' would be a breech.
