Hi all,

Has anyone had trouble getting touch working via a USB connected laptop on these screens (or similar) before?

The screen in question is a BenQ RP553K and the laptop is an HP EliteBook 2570p.

We don't use any USB extenders or powered USB Hubs. The laptop is running Windows 7 Pro.

When the USB cable is connected you hear the usual sounds and the Touch Gesture icon briefly appears in the System Tray...thats about it!

I have checked the Device Manager/BIOS and can see nothing untoward. The strange thing is that touch works when I connect the screen to an RM Notebook One we have running Windows 10.

I'm starting to think it is the USBs on the laptop that are at fault....any ideas?

Many thanks

A difficult one, I’ve had problems with benq screens but also certain laptops when it comes to usb connectivity. What length cable are you running?

Morning, if you want to DM me your contact details, I can get someone in technical support to look into this.

Regards Adrian.

The cable length is about 2

meters, so standard length I think. I tested with another laptop of the same model and also had the same problem...may try updating the BIO and Drivers this morning just to rule that out too.

All fixed! Just incase anyone comes across this thread in the future - if you are using a mix of VGA and HDMI computers with the screen, you need to connect the USB cable to position 4 underneath the power button.

This enables touch for both VGA and HDMI connections made to the screen from a computer - feeling a bit duh now! Haha!
