Every time i log into Explorer their homepage appears instead of my preferred site. I can redirect to my preferred site set it as default from Inet Options but when the browser is closed an opened again, the same happens.

It sounds like it might be a spyware problem. Is this at home or on the school network?

If it's at home get going witH AdAware SE Personal, Spybot and A Squared Free to start with - they're all free ware. These products are not for use on business or school networks...

EDIT

Some links:

Spybot: Download Spybot Search & Destroy 1.5.2 - filehippo.com

AdAware: Download Ad-Aware 2007 7.0.2.6 - filehippo.com

A-Squared (scroll down for the free version): a-squared Anti-Malware (a2) Download - Free Downloads of the Trial- and Freeware-Versions

As someone has already suggested Spybot and AdAware used in conjunction with your preferred AV solution should keep your PC pretty clean of these annoying (and sometimes nasty) lil programs. For AV, I used AVG and have never had an issue with it.

Well, i must say thanks to all as my PC now seems to be completely free of them pesky spies.....

I downloaded SpyHunter & it worked a treat.

Thanks again

Sam - recent reviews suggest that the best anti-spywares only get rid of 60% of the pests... and each gets rid of a different 60%.

I'd recommend running more than 1... and running them weekly

I use the 3 in my earlier post. If I'm dealing with a machine with known problems, I install and update them and then boot in Safe Mode to run them.

You may need to turn off System Restore before running anti-spyware to completely rid yourself of the problem as spyware has a nasty habit of lurking in there!
