Windows 7 - Windows could not connect to the Systems Event Notification services

Seeing this on a Genee Board Ops unit. Googled it and tried re starting the services - unit didn't seem too happy doing this..

 

Other symptoms - Google chrome wouldn't update - tried to install from fresh and it complained about proxy settings - which were ok as Gsuite via IE was working fine as were other websites

 

Tried to look at event viewer but couldn't as services weren't running etc...

 

Board seems to be running ok today via chrome - but just wondered if anybody else had come across this?

We have this issue too, but it doesn't involve the Genee Board - it is just a normal dell machine.

A force restart usually fixes this for us, but it has caused lots of pain for the poor teacher.
