speckledegg Posted November 30, 2017 Posted November 30, 2017 (edited) Hi all, Hope you're all wrapped up warm! Was just wondering if anyone had found a way to add the name of an iPad to the lock screen via Profile Manager? I know you can do this in Configurator, but would like to set it via Profile Manager if possible. I did have a look on the Lock Screen section in IOS settings but couldn't see a way to set it! Thanks! Edited November 30, 2017 by anselmtech
spacebar Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 All it does is creates a custom wallpaper. So takes your wallpaper image and adds text to it. The device name is part of the wallpaper. In theory you could do it yourself. Sorry I don't know how it can be done without config.
MicrodigitUK Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 The only other way of doing this automatically is with an alternative to Apple Configurator called Ground Control. I don't know of any MDMs like Apple Profile Manager that will automatically apply the text to the lock screen image. Profile Manager dose not do this. See link to Ground Control, it's basically Configurator on steroids as a cloud service. Really good product can't recommend it enough, saves us hours of maintenance time with our iPads and iPhones. https://www.groundctl.com
