I don't know if anyone else noticed, but Safari 3.1 got pushed out via the Apple Update software (comes with iTunes and Quicktime) as a critical security update earlier this week.

To make things more entertaining, it seems the EULA would prevent you from installing it on 'Apple labeled' hardware, which my and a lot of other peoples Windows PCs aren't.

And for a final kick in the teeth, it's got a security vulnerability (remote code execution):

The critical bug is for Safari on Windows, not OSX so it's arguably MS's fault

Nope its not a windows hole. Its poor windows coding by apple that has caused the problem.

It doesnt really matter (I use Opera myself a lot) as all web devs generally make it IE compatible and FF compatible. Not many sites dont work in IE
